Tree

      
    Here is a plant. If it is big, you can call it a tree.  A tree can’t, move. But it is alive. It can grow, bigger and higher. Plants or trees need water from the land. They have roots to absorb the water. They are called fibrous roots. They are tiny and soft like string. They grow downward or outward from the base of the trunk. The roots that are strong and hard are called tap roots. They can’t absorb, but anchor the tree and hold it up right against the force of strong wind.  

    The biggest part, of tree is called a trunk. It support the branches, twigs, leaves, flowers and fruit. The leaves grow on the twigs, the twigs grow on the branches.  The branches grow on the trunk. The main function of trunk is to dissolve the water, to conduct the water to support the branches, etc.

     
     The leaves have important roles in the plant. They are the food factory of the plant. They make sugar from water and carbon dioxide by using sun energy (sunlight). The chlorophyll of the leaves absorb the sun energy (sunlight), which is needed for photosynthesis process.The leaves also release the oxygen for people and animals to breathe.
